Wine Review: This unfined and unfiltered Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley is dark red and cloudy in the glass. It opens with a smoky black cherry and red beet bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a spicy strawberry licorice with hints of black plum and red beet. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This is an enjoyable fruit driven Pinot. I would pair it with salmon croquettes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aged all in tank (no barrels), this Pinot Noir is all fruit, refreshing and perfectly quaffable on any occasion. During the excellent 2013 vintage, we decided to produce a wine that singularly focused on the quality of fruit produced in our vineyard. Just like our other wines, the Unoaked Pinot Noir was fermented with wild yeast and wild ML, with 33% whole clusters to add tannin. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Enjoy anytime -- even chilled during summer months.
