Wine Review: Our mini group recently tried this intriguing bright ruby colored Zin. It opens with a very fragrant boysenberry and cranberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, and quite savory. The flavor profile is a delicious and interesting blend of red currant, cranberry, and boysenberry with hints of oak and molasses. The finish is dry and its mild tannins show nice length. I was very impressed with this unique Zin and I would pair it with meat lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Nonna Martinelli planted her vineyard in 1932. The 75 year old, head-pruned, dry-farmed vines have survived fires, drought, and hard times. In the end two things always remained; Nonna’s food and one of the best Zinfandel vineyards in Paso. The vines produce small quantities of bright and intense fruit. The wine was aged in French and American Oak for 14 months. Available for purchase by Incident members only.
