Wine Review: This bright dark ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a mild leather and black cherry bouquet with hints of menthol and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and silky. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry with a hint of boysenberry and white pepper. The finish is dry and its grippy fine tannins stick around for a bit. The panel suggested drinking this Zin in the near term with eel sushi or homemade meatloaf. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Devious mischief abounds from these dry-farmed, head pruned, old vine vineyards in the Shenendoah Valley. This Sierra Foothill Valley is renowned for its old vine Zin vineyards which produce a wine that is chewy and spicy, rich with blackberry fruit and a hint of velvet vanilla oak. Blended with a touch of Syrah from the Bailey Vineyard. Maverick...The Jam Bomb...mischievous fun!
