Wine Review: This opaque purple colored Petite Sirah opens with a rich dark chocolate and raspberry Chambord bouquet with hints of coffee and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced and velvety smooth. The flavor profile is a mild plum and blueberry blend with hints of boysenberry, dark cocoa powder and espresso in the aftertaste. The finish is displays fruit flavors and drying grippy tannins that linger for quite some time. This is a very nice weekday wine that would pair well with grilled steak tips or smoked chicken with mole sauce. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Dried blackberry, sweet cinnamon, coco powder and a hint of sage show in the aromas. This wine progresses over the palate with dark espresso, raspberry jam, dark chocolate covered blueberries and finishing with perfectly integrated oak spice. Concentrated fruit, balanced acidity and mature tannins will allow this wine to age for 10+ years. Pairs well with a variety of foods, including short ribs, stews, dark chocolate and grilled figs with balsamic reduction.
