Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Flanagan opens with a shy cucumber and pineapple bouquet with hints of lemon, guava, wet stone, and white florals. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is beautiful, nicely balanced, elegant, supple, and smooth. The flavor profile is tasty mild Anjou pear and almond blend with notes of chalky minerality, lemon curd and saline. We also detected some hints of oak and white tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle acidity drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with a Caesar salad, pan-fried rainbow trout, &/or with a pan-seared halibut fillet with beurre blanc. Enjoy – KWGTP
