Wine Review: This deep purple colored Merlot from Flanagan opens with a blueberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of strawberry, flint, and florals. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, mouthcoating, and savory. The flavor profile is tasty fine crushed stony minerality and boysenberry flavor with notes of cedar and black cherry. We also detected some hints of black licorice and Baker's chocolate. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins linger nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Merlot with a variety of dishes. Cassoulet, Osso Buco, and a wild mushroom risotto all were suggested. Enjoy – KWGTP
