Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Flanagan is very good. It opens with a very inviting blueberry, new leather and ripe black cherry bouquet with hints of bay leaf and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and quite approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty graphite and black olive blend with notes of Açaí berry and black tea. There are also hints of oak in the background. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins linger for a very long time. This Syrah is very food friendly and would pair well with a filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2014 Syrah displays classic Rhone aromatics of white pepper, bacon fat, and savory herbs. The palate has lush layers of blue and black fruits balanced with a bright acidity that elevates the fruit profile. This is a wine that will handle food very well. Pair with richer dishes like lamb or cassoulet.
