Wine Review: This very enjoyable Rosé from Sicily is made from Nero d'Avola grapes. It is a pale coral colored with strawberry Twizzler, red cherry, delicious apple, and orange zest aromas. On the palate, it is bright, fresh, and medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is silky and has good balance. There are flavors of red cherry, nectarine, saline, crushed shells, tangerine, and a green herbal note. The finish is fruit focused with light minerality and is moderate in length. I would serve this Rosé lightly chilled with a salumi focused antipasto platter. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: A Provençal Rosé wine, but expressing the freshness and warmth of Sicily. A fresh version of Nero d'Avola, the result of maceration for a few hours and aged in steel to enhance the primary characteristics of the varietal. As fresh as the Ionian breeze that cradles the Nero d'Avola grapes at Feudo Maccari. A wine with a brilliant color and delicate rose hues, fragrant and perfumed, thanks to a bouquet of floral and fruity notes of pineapple and raspberry. A soft elegance and a fresh, juicy palate. Round and flavorful, with good acidity. Perfect for Mediterranean cuisine as well as pairings with roasted salmon and light cheeses.
