Wine Review: This bright ruby colored Pinot from the famed Bien Nacido vineyards opens with black raspberry and red currant like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and very approachable. The flavor profile is a mild ripe black plum with notes of nicely integrated mild oak and gentle black raspberry. I also detected some hints of dried cranberry as well. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger and show a bit of a burst after the wine is gone. This Pinot is very very food friendly and I would pair it with grilled salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: We have been working with fruit from this fabled vineyard since 1990, but it was in 1995 that we contracted to have "F Block" Pinot Noir planted and farmed to our specifications. The result has been nothing short of fabulous! This wine is quintessential Bien Nacido, big, rich and velvety on the palate with loads of forward cherry & strawberry fruit framed in with attractive spice, cola and toasty characteristics adding complexity. This wine is eminently drinkable today but also has a great track record of aging for 6-8 years. Enjoy!
