Wine Review: This very dark ruby red blend opens with mild blueberry bouquet after a little funk spins off. On the palate, this wine full bodied, balanced and coats the mouth nicely. The flavor profile is a tasty Dr. Pepper and blueberry blend with nicely integrated light oak in the background. I also detected hints of black cherry and cocoa. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well managed and stick around for a little while. This wine would pair well with a bacon burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: With The Big Easy we wanted to pay homage to one of our favorite cities, a culinary mecca and great supporters of our wines, New Orleans. Notes of blackberry, plum, smoked meat, acacia flower, vanilla and pepper are found on the nose along with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, black cherry, all spice and vanilla on the palate. Enjoy this meaty, well structured blend to a long lengthy finish with its dense chocolaty tannins.
