Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Syrah from Fess Parker performed very well for the panel. It opens with a musty oak and blackberry bouquet with hints of toasted oak and lead pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a cedar plank infused black currant with notes of black cherry and just a touch of black pepper and licorice. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins linger for quite some time. The panel suggested pairing this tasty Syrah with Colorado lamb chops or homemade meatloaf. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The grapes from this Syrah are grown on our estate vineyard where the winery is located. On the nose, layers of black pepper, smoke, tar and blueberry mingle with black cherry, lavender and blackberry. Cascading onto the palate are flavors of black cherry, black berry, plum, dark chocolate, dried Herbs de Province and smoked meat. Enjoy with Filet Mignon, Grilled Lamb or Venison.
