Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Syrah from Fess Parker opens with a smoky oak, earth, and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and rustic. The flavor profile is similar to many South African wines. It is an oak infused plum with notes of black currant, coffee, and Balsamic dressing. The finish is dry and its tingly acidity and oak tannins fade away nicely. The panel suggested pairing this wine with barbecue pulled pork. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The grapes from this Syrah are grown on our estate vineyard where the winery is located. Layers of boysenberry, blueberry, black pepper and smoked meat mingle with sage, all spice and bacon on the nose. An irresistible combination of flavors including blueberry, plum, cassis, dark chocolate, vanilla and dried herbs are truly pleasing on the palate.
