Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay from Ferrari-Carano opens with butterscotch and caramel apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, rich and fresh. The flavor profile is a blend of pineapple and white peach blend with notes of saline, oak, and toasted almonds. I also detected a hint of pear and tangerine. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity show very nice length. This Chard would pair well with a pan-seared halibut with a garlic crab topping. Winemaker Notes: This wine entices with aromas of vanilla, buttercream, apricot, graham cracker and toasted marshmallow followed by elegant, upfront ripe flavors of pear, peach, apple, orange blossom and brown sugar on the finish.
