Wine Review: This inky red colored Pinot Noir from Ferrari Carano opens with an inviting jammy bouquet of ripe blackberries, black cherries and plum. I also detected some herbal notes including tarragon and a touch of light leather. The jammy ripe berries and plum carry through on the palate. The palate was also smooth, slightly dry with nice balanced tannins and minerality. Though not overly complex, this Pinot from Ferrari Carano is a crowd pleaser and very food friendly. I particularly enjoyed the smooth and balanced tannins. The finish is condensed, but very pleasant and enjoyable. I would pair this Mendocino Ridge based Pinot Noir with an herb encrusted rack of lamb. – Joe
