Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from Ferrari Carano opens with a mild pineapple and gentle oak bouquet with a hint of ginger. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and rich. The flavor profile is a new oak influenced pear with notes of clove and butter. I also detected hints of pineapple towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors are very prolonged. This Chard is for fans who enjoy a fair amount of oak mixed in. I would pair it with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Named for Don Carano's paternal grandmother, Emelia Ferrari, the 2015 Emelia's Cuvee Chardonnay is from a single vineyard in Russian River Valley. This Chardonnay is a delicious wine with aromas of cinnamon, toasted apricot and pear, followed by flavors of white peaches, nutmeg, brown sugar and marshmallow. An elegant, smooth, toasty oak finish characterizes this lovely wine. Emelia's Cuvee pairs perfectly with seafood and poultry entrees, as well as salads with tropical fruit-based dressings.
