Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alexander Valley opens with a fragrant red raspberry bouquet with hints of pomegranate, chocolate and mint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty black cherry with notes of oak and plum. We also detected hints of mint and milk chocolate as well. The finish is dry and its well managed dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Cab with a veal chop in the next 3-5 years. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our Lookout Mountain ranch in Alexander Valley. This full-bodied wine entices with captivating aromas of blackberry pie and caramel enhanced with notes of leather and sage. Flavors of dark plum and blueberry are layered upon a solid structure of rich tannins, finishing with toasted oak and cassis notes. Our Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with roasted, broiled or barbecued heavy game and red meats such as lamb, beef, pork and veal. Medium and strong flavored cheeses, such as blue cheese or sharp Cheddar, also pair nicely with Cabernet Sauvignon.
