Wine Review: The ladies in our mini-tasting group loved this Chardonnay and their scores drove the overall score for this wine. This yellow colored Chard opens with a very attractive vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and lively. The flavor profile is lemon butter with nicely integrated oak. The finish is dry and subtle. The mini-panel suggested pairing this with pasta carbonara. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Formerly called our "Alexander Valley Chardonnay", this 2009 Ferrari-Carano Chardonnay boasts a Sonoma County appellation, as we’ve added superior lots of wine from our vineyards in Russian River Valley and Carneros, combined with Alexander Valley fruit. A full-bodied Chardonnay, this wine delights with aromas of apple, a hint of graham cracker, floral notes, and honey, perfectly balanced by flavors of lemon and pear on the entry and lingering, creamy marshmallow, toasted oak notes. This versatile, full-bodied Chardonnay pairs perfectly with seafood, poultry, white meats, and dishes with cream sauces.
