Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Petite Sirah from Ferrari Carano opens with a plum and menthol like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a black cherry and plum blend with hints of blueberry and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this wine with slow cooked barbecue beef brisket or veal marsala. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A new wine from Ferrari-Carano, our 2009 Petite Sirah is from our estate vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. Aromas of vibrant blackberries, crushed peppercorn, black tea, and graphite are interwoven with delicious flavors and more spicy elements such as cedar, clove and tobacco. This full-bodied wine is dense with rich tannins and excellent length. Lingering flavors of sweet oak, bittersweet chocolate and dark caramel round out the finish.
