Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville opens with a black cherry and dried strawberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is a nicely balanced, very smooth and displays good tension. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry and black cherry blend with notes of red currant and graphite. The finish is dry and its refined tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this very impressive wine with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: Above all, our 2020 is fragrant. Blue fruit, fresh-turned earth, warm spice, and cocoa swirl in the glass, with fresh, leafy herbs right behind. Graphite gives way to bright, red fruit flavors—think red currant and black raspberry—on a beautifully tense and textural palate marked by crushed-oyster-shell minerality. A backbone of tannins is fine-grained but just a little angular and persistent, adding to a long, complex finish that evolves as the wine lingers in the glass.
