Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from Fathers + Daughters is very good. It opens with a gooseberry, grapefruit and lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, pleasantly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tasty mild grapefruit and mineral blend with notes of gooseberry. The finish is dry and refreshing. This is a very food friendly Sauvignon Blanc that would pair perfectly with grilled swordfish. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pale straw in color, the nose of this Sauvignon Blanc is wild and exotic evoking memories of a spring meadow in full bloom. Fresh honeydew melons, rose petal, pink grapefruit and anise round out the aromas. This wine comes from 50-year-old vines and is both earthy and fruity, the palate a blend of spices, green fruits and herbs. Cinnamon and fresh marjoram blend with lemon curd, cumquat and crabapple to evoke an exotic result. The mouthfeel is vibrant and marked by texture, with elements of rose petal, jalapeno and pine nuts found in the long finish.
