Wine Review: Sometimes a wine needs time or some air to show its true potential. This Chateauneuf-du-Pape certainly benefited from a little bit of both. It is dark ruby colored and opens with red plum and strawberry licorice bouquet with hints of violets, blackberry, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and brightens up with some air. The flavor profile is black currant and mild strawberry licorice blend with notes of graphite and black plum. We also detected hints of oak and black tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this CDP with a charcuterie platter or Italian beef braciole. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Superb color of a bright ruby- red. The nose is intoxicating with notes of fresh plums and sweet spices. Complex and rich, the palate is soft with aromas of raspberries and pepper and offers a long and elegant finish.
