Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Gigondas is very nice. It opens with a mild blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth and balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty acai berry with notes of mild minerality and black plum. I also detected hints of black tea, black cherry and a touch of cinnamon and oregano. The finish is dry and its flavors and silky tannins drift away nicely. This wine is very food friendly and would pair very nicely with veal cutlets with crispy potatoes and cherry sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Beautiful ruby color with purple undertones. The nose is complex with aromas of ripe fruit (plums, cherries) and spices (cardamom, pepper). On the palate, the attack is dense and velvety with well-melted tannins and hints of pepper brioche. Pair with a veal chop with morels.
