Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Teran from Croatia opens with a black raspberry and a musty herbal bouquet with hints of wild strawberry and steel wool. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. It is also round and juicy. The flavor profile is a tart black cherry and craisin blend with notes of steely minerality and red raspberry. We also detected hints of oak, chamomile tea, and tangerine in the aftertaste. The finish is dry, and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for quite a while. This Teran would pair well with Monica’s kielbasa and roasted red pepper pizza or a charcuterie platter. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Teran has a ruby red color that with aging passes into brick red tones. Full and strong bodied with a flavor and nose of forest fruits. It’s acidity and tannins give it roundness, and a long after taste. Ideal for longer aging.
