Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Pinot Gris from Etude opens with a honeysuckle and baked Bosc pear bouquet with hints of white florals and lemon verbena. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, mouthwatering, clean, and fresh. The flavor profile is an Anjou pear and saline blend with notes of fine chalky minerality and green tea. We also detected hints of pineapple, green apple, and lime. The finish is dry and refreshing. The Tasting Panel would pair this versatile Pinot Gris with a crab cocktail. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Pinot Gris from Alsace is one of Winemaker Jon Priest's favorite varietals, so delicate, intentional winemaking crafts this lovely expression from Napa Valley. On the nose, the wine is bright and cheery with fragrant white elderflower aromatics alongside hints of lime zest, kiwi, and marzipan. On the palate, a flinty minerality comes through balanced Pablo I by tropical notes of Granny Smith apple, white peach, lime zest, and citrus blossom. The mouthfeel is lithe and supple providing depth and richness from the sur lie lees contact, giving the wine a luscious texture, weight, and body. Tremendously balanced, refreshing, and quite quaffable, the finish provides a mouth-pleasing length that is dry harvest and crisp.
