Wine Review: This Carneros Pinot Noir is dark ruby and slightly opaque colored. It carries complex aromas of blueberry compote and black cherry liqueur along with hints of cinnamon stick, currant and olive tapenade. On the palate, this wine is medium-plus bodied with plus acidity. It nicely coats your mouth and is muscular, but elegant. The flavor profile is mild raspberry and strawberry rhubarb blend with notes of generous but sensible oak, black cherry and refined minerality. We also detected hints of baking spices, white pepper and black tea. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift way nicely. We would pair this Pinot with pork tenderloin and mushroom risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A vibrant red ruby trending garnet color, aromas of heady red plum, dark cherry and berry confiture dominate, alongside bright fresh fruit with slight bay and thyme, white pepper and slight oak spice. Flavors follow the same pattern, with the familiar cinnamon graham cracker note often found in this wine. Rich and round and showcasing red fruits such as Bing cherry, raspberry with bright acidity and long, fine-grained tannins that suggest the opportunity to age a bit for further development of complex layers of flavors. Glossy, a bit showy, a fine example of what Grace Benoist Ranch offers.
