Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Etude opens with a lead pencil, pipe tobacco and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and soft. The flavor profile is a gentle graphite and black currant blend with notes of black tea and oak. I also detected hints of blueberry and dark chocolate in the background. The finish is dry and its moderate well-managed tannins and flavors are nicely prolonged. This Cab is ready to go now with a filet mignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A classic expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This vintage shows off aromas and flavors of dark fruit led by blackberry, dark raspberry and black cherry with hints of oak spice. The wine is well-balanced with great structural integrity, a solid acid backbone and a weighty yet elegant and lingering finish. The wine is suitable for immediate enjoyment or cellaring for another two decades.
