Wine Review: This pitch black colored red wine from Portugal opens with a fragrant blackberry jam bouquet with hints of blueberry, black currant and anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and displays rich fruit flavors. Those flavors are the same as I found on the nose. Mainly black currant with notes of blackberry and blueberry mixed in. I also found nicely integrated black licorice and oak. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins and fruit flavors stick around for quite some time. I liked this big boy wine a lot. I would drink it with some Kerrygold "Dubliner" cheese by the fireplace or with a ribeye steak Enjoy - Ken
