Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a faint black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced and super smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blackberry and faint strawberry blend. I also detected hints gentle boysenberry, black licorice and oak. On day three, this wine was still going strong and some blueberry flavors also showed up. The finish is dry and its refined mild tannins linger and last for quite some time. This Cab is very elegant and would be a perfect pairing for a filet mignon in the near term. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Eponymous 2014 exudes lovely, complex notes as soon as the cork is pulled. Held to the light, this elegant wine shimmers with a stunning deep purple-inky color that announces the intensity of the grapes. The complexity of aromas jump out of the glass with rich blackberries, spice, vanilla and hints of toasted rosemary that carry over to the palate. This palate has classic Napa structure and grip with more than ample tannins, although nicely balanced by fruit, a rich earthiness and spice. It is rich, full and round from the initial taste, continuing as it fills the mouth, leading to a long, lingering, polished finish. Serve at room temperature with red meats, lamb, cheeses.
