Wine Review: This dark red Nebbiolo from Enrico Serafino is a very good value. It opens with a fragrant strawberry jam bouquet with hints of red raspberry and wood smoke. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and round. The flavor profile is similar to the nose, it features a mild strawberry with notes of red plum, oak and gentle minerality. I also detected hints of earthy loam mixed in. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins show nice length. This wine is food friendly and would pair well with a Brazilian skirt steak with golden garlic butter or a wild boar stew. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Brilliant ruby red with violet and purple hues.
Nose: Intense, elegant and complex with floral notes of rose and violet. Fruity with scents of cherry and plum, typical fine spicy aromas.
Palate: Fine, velvety, fresh, medium to full body, smooth with intriguing tannins and long mineral finish.
It pairs with pasta, soup, meats, seasonal dishes and medium-aged cheeses.
