Wine Review: This medium golden yellow colored Italian sparkler has a lot of long lasting small bubbles in the glass. The rather complex bouquet includes peach, honeydew melon, sandalwood, cinnamon, sourdough bread, wet slate, and fresh linen aromas. On the palate this Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend is bright, lively, medium-minus bodied and savory, with medium-plus acidity. There is no dosage added so it is bone dry and very pure. There are flavors of green apple, stony minerality and lemon. The finish is refreshing, dry and moderate with a pleasant bitter note. This sparkler would pair well with a cold Maine lobster roll. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: Vivid straw yellow color, high-spirited perlage, minute and continuous. The perfume is intense, particularly refined, and reminiscent of green apple and bread crust, accompanied by mineral notes. Dry, clean, and elegant with an especially soft and persistent mouthfeel. Piancastello Zero is the perfect aperitif and can also be enjoyed throughout the entire meal.
