Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Merlot from Emmolo opens with a kirsch and faint leather bouquet with a hint of ripe yellow peach. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and dense. The flavor profile is a cherry and cocoa powder blend with notes of black plum and cinnamon tea. I also detected some hints of cedar and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its flavors and polished mild tannins fade away nicely. This food friendly and versatile Merlot would pair well with grandma's lasagna. Enjoy - Ken
