Wine Review: This light gold colored Sauvignon Blanc opens with a fresh pea, grapefruit, and honeydew melon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and a bit juicy. The flavor profile is a gentle green apple and Anjou pear blend with notes of chalky minerality and lime. I also detected hints of yellow bell pepper. The finish is dry and pleasantly fades away. This Sauvignon Blanc is very food friendly and would pair nicely with grilled swordfish steaks. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Jenny's goal with making this Sauvignon Blanc is to be more minerality driven and less fruit driven. In her view, with Sauvignon Blanc, less is more. Her 2021 offering opens with scents of newly ripened honeydew, white peach, blooming honeysuckle, wet stone and traces of savory scone. Flavors of bright citrus, crisp acidity, zesty kumquat and a mouthwatering freshness on the finish. The wine is not overly ripe - while also not herbaceous- featuring low alcohol and vibrant acidity. Jenny suggests pairing this wine with salads, grilled fish or a family favorite, pea soup. She also enjoys this wine on her own.
