Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc from Emmolo is very good. It opens with a faint grapefruit bouquet with hints of green apple, straw and fig. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, bright, savory and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused gentle grapefruit with hints of quinine and green apple. The finish is dry, refreshing and very nicely prolonged. This is a perfect summer wine. I would pair it with bacon wrapped scallops. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A light straw color, the 2016 vintage features scents of melon and lavender, layered with notes of wet stone that call to mind a late-summer rain. Entry on the palate, is light and then builds, with flavors that are just on the edge of ripeness, from peaches to bright citrus. A flinty character lingers throughout, and the finish trails off with a balance of fruit and acidity, leaving a crisp and refreshing final impression.
