Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Petite Sirah opens with an inviting mild boysenberry bouquet with a hint of toasted marshmallow. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry with notes of plum. The panel also detected some hints of tobacco. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this wine with beef brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2010 Napa Valley Petite Sirah is inky black in color and has a perfumed nose of dark black fruit, lavender, sage, and orange zest. It is generous and broad on the palate and possesses considerable weight, as well. Flavors of wild blackberries, dark plums and blueberries with hints of game, dark chocolate and spicy oak are bright and true. Super ripe blue and black fruits carry the rich, solid tannins on this full-bodied wine to a long and pleasing finish. Pair with strong cheeses, wild game, lamb shank, or peppered steak. It is drinking incredibly well right now, but will continue to age nicely for the next 6 – 9 years.
