Wine Review: This late release Cabernet from Else is dark ruby colored and opens with a fragrant black currant and eucalyptus bouquet with a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavors profile are a black cherry and menthol blend with notes of mild boysenberry. I also detected some oak and dark chocolate towards the very end. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a little sticky and linger for a while. This wine is showing well now and has aged nicely. I would pair this vice nice Cab with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Morisoli Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep, dark hue revealing vibrant aromas of cherries, blackberries and cassis that are grounded by hints of dust and mushrooms. It unfolds on the palate with rich black fruit flavors, delicate floral notes and suggestions of graphite and tar, all of which become harmonious when kissed by the underlying oak and silky tannins. Full-bodied, well-structured, and robust, the soft mouthfeel adds warmth and elegance to this bold wine. It is a truly persuasive expression of this historic vineyard. Enjoy with rich meat dishes and cheeses.
