Wine Review: This very very dark ruby colored Syrah opens with an inviting blueberry and boysenberry bouquet with a hint of cedar plank and cocoa. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, juicy and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar infused blueberry with notes of blackberry, mild minerality and cola. The finish is dry and its light tannins and flavors linger nicely. This Syrah is food friendly and would pair well the homemade meatloaf. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Definitely a wine for the Rhone at heart, our 2008 Syrah is deep ruby colored with captivating aromas of white pepper, mushrooms, garrique, sweet dried blueberries, and raspberries. This full-bodied syrah is creamy and soft on the palate with an amazing layering of complex flavors and a long smooth finish. Try this with roasted meats, duck, cheeses, and pastas or just about anything off the grill. This wine will age nicely for 6 to 10 years.
