Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Rutherford Cabernet opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty black currant with nicely integrated old oak. I also detected notes of black licorice and blueberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are dusty and stick around for quite some time. This impressive Cabernet call for a second glass and would pair perfectly with a ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Morisoli Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark, almost black, purple color with a focused nose of blackberries, cassis, black cherries, allspice, and sloe plums along with pronounced graphite and cedar notes. Warm and inviting on the palate, this full-bodied wine shows deep flavors of perfectly ripe black and red fruits accented by sweet tannins, bright acidity, and intriguing oak nuances. It finishes as it started and without pause - vibrant fruit flavors, silky tannins, and underlying oak nuances. True to form, it displays the power and elegance that is so characteristic of this vineyard. Enjoy with rich meat dishes and cheeses. You should otherwise feel comfortable cellaring this wine for 15 – 20 years.
