Wine Review: This light white gold colored Pinot Gris was very well received by the tasting panel and finished in second place in our blind tasting. It opens with an attractive mild pear like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and rich. The flavor profile is a fruit forward blend of lemon and mild pineapple with a hint of ripe apple. The finish is dry and nicely refreshing. The panel suggested pairing this wine with pork with pine nuts and spinach or with your Thanksgiving Turkey. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Elk Cove Vineyards Pinot Gris starts out with sweet and unctuous aromatics while showing crispness on the palate with citrus and grapefruit. True to Elk Cove Vineyards’ style, a rich mouthfeel leads to a full and satisfying balanced finish. Drink this lovely white wine as an aperitif or with a variety of food pairings from salmon and main-course salads to Asian and Thai influenced dishes.
