Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Elk Cove is very good. It opens with a black raspberry and red plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a slightly tart plum with notes of raspberry, black pepper and flinty minerality. I also detected hints of strawberry and craisin towards the very end. The finish is dry and is dusty tannins stick around for a while. I would pair this Pinot with a grilled salmon burger with a garlic lemon aioli. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Blackberry and candied orange scents intertwine with notes of cinnamon and dark chocolate. A vibrant, juicy core of ripe dark cherry and Italian plum shows great freshness of fruit, leading into a long spicy finish of nutmeg, earth and black pepper.
