Wine Review: This pale white gold colored Pinot Gris from Elk Cove opens with a pleasant orange and mango like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic and citrusy. The flavor profile is a tasty tangerine and with hints of lime and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and is pleasantly refreshing. This Oregon Pinot Gris would pair well with five fruit stuffed chicken. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 Elk Cove Vineyards Pinot Gris has sweet and unctuous aromatics while showing crispness on the palate with vibrant citrus and grapefruit. True to Elk Cove Vineyards’ style, a rich mouthfeel leads to a full and satisfying balanced finish. Drink this lovely white wine as an aperitif or with a variety of food pairings from salmon and main-course salads to Asian and Thai influenced dishes.
