Wine Review: This light salmon colored wine opens with a very fragrant nectarine, white peach, and wet slate bouquet with hints of watermelon and white pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is zesty, bright, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a slightly tart nectarine, watermelon, and stony minerality blend with notes of Rainier cherries and white pepper. I also detected hints of triple sec and white peach in the mix. The finish is dry and refreshing. I would sip this Rose slightly chilled on hot summer day. With food, try it with steamed mussels. Winemaker Notes: The 2022 Ehlers Estate Sylviane Rosé is a vibrant salmon pink rosé. Intense aromas of red fruit berries like strawberries, raspberries, accompanied by scents of daisies, wild yellow flowers, and orange peel. The wine presents a creamy texture in the palate that contrast the freshness, bright acidity of the wine. Long evolving palate with berries, mandarin, and citrus pie. We picked the fruit from the new blocks early to retain the fresh fruit character and acidity.
