Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Ehlers opens with a red plum and red licorice bouquet with hints of sandalwood. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and supple. The flavor profile is red currant and red plum blend with notes of red licorice, oak, and white tea. We also detected hints of mild tobacco and stone dust. The finish is dry, and its well-managed fine dusty tannins linger for a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab Franc with grandma’s lasagna. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 Cabernet Franc is fresh, presenting notes of red rose and crushed tomato on the nose. Hints of oak and blackberry round out the nose. In the mouth, silky tannins and balanced acidity create a immense layering. Flavors of ripe blackberry and pressed flowers, followed by a hint of paprika, create a wine of great depth.
