Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Ehlers Estate opens with strawberry bouquet with hints of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, elegant and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle strawberry with notes of refined minerality and black tea. We also detected a hint of black raspberry mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine-grained tannins drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this Cab Franc with a filet mignon or pepper encrusted venison steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 Cabernet Franc is a beautiful garnet-purple color. The wine opens up with aromas of smashed rocks and minerality that is so expressive and predominant in our wines. The nose continues evolving to black cherries, violets, cedar, white pepper and berry compote. Long and balanced, the mouthfeel is rich but with silky tannins. Our Cabernet Franc is an amazingly food-friendly wine. Ready to drink now, but it will age extremely well for 10-15 more years.
