Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Syrah from Washington State opens with a blueberry, gentle leather and cedar like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, juicy and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral and plum blend with hints of boysenberry and a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. The panels suggested that this very nice Syrah would pair well with pan roasted duck breast. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Ceidleigh (pronounced kay-Lee) is made from Red Mountain grapes. Old and new world in the same glass make this Syrah distinctive. Translating as ‘celebration’ from the Gaelic tradition, this wine makes a fine contribution to any party. 2010 was a perfect year for Red Mountain and Ceidleigh shows off the beauty of the vintage. The wine expands and explodes into a lush wine on the palate with blackberry while having great focus and expression of green tea and eucalyptus.
