Wine Review: We had the chance to try an older Chardonnay this weekend and it performed very well. This 2019 “Estate” offering from Eden Rift is light gold colored and opens with a crème brûlée and light Meyer lemon bouquet with a touch of oak. On the palate, wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, fresh, and mouthwatering. The flavor is a white peach and marzipan blend with notes of oak and oolong tea. We also detected hints of lemon verbena and a touch of ginger. The finish is dry and refreshing. We would pair this very enjoyable Chard with my poached pear salad. Enjoy – Ken & Dave
