Wine Review: This ruby red colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a very fragrant cranberry and pomegranate bouquet with hints of oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lilac. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, crisp and gentle. The flavor profile is tart cranberry and rhubarb blend with notes of lingonberry, toasted oak, and loam. We also detected hints of oolong tea and red cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity and mild tannins linger last for quite a long time. This Pinot benefits from aeration. We would decant it before pairing it with grilled salmon or a turkey dinner. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our 5 Wells Pinot Noir is a beautiful interpretation of the coolest reaches of the Russian River Valley that is bursting with lilac aromas, baking spices, and an underlying caramel note. Juicy red cherry and cranberry rush the palate followed by black tea and a round, soft, silky finish. We were all swept of our feet by how wonderfully this young wine is showing and for the aging potential for it in our portfolio. The best pairings are savory dishes like stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, roasted duck, and cheeses like aged cheddar and Asiago.
