Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Mendocino opens with an inviting blueberry and cherry bouquet with hints of teaberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is a mulberry and cola blend with notes of cedar and vanilla. I also detected hints of tangy black cherry and strawberry rhubarb. The finish is dry and fine tannins and flavors drift away nicely. I would serve this Pinot slightly cool with cherry amaretto chicken. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Mendocino Hills Pinot leads with the classic rich blackberry compote and bowl of fruit we've come to love from this site. Queen Anne cherry, pomegranate, and a touch of vanilla round out the aromas. The mouth is super juicy, plush, and decadent, with a lift of bright red cherry and cola on the sandalwood and baking spice finish. The wine is soft and easy drinking, and the tannins are fairly open knit. It's perfect with the local Pennyroyal Farms Boont Corners aged goat cheese.
