Wine Review: This straw-colored Chardonnay from Dutton-Goldfield opens with a musty lime and wet stone bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is rounded, balanced a little bright for a Chard. The mouthfeel is a lemon and pineapple blend with notes of chalky minerality and quince. I also detected hints of oak, thyme, nutmeg, and almonds. The finish is dry, and its flavors linger and then drift away nicely. This Chard is versatile and food friendly. I would pair it with homemade New England chowder served in a fresh baked bread boule. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: The nose leads with an orchard of aromas, ranging from lemon blossom, Asian pear, and Granny Smith apple. Notes of pineapple, dried apricot, and brioche provide a plush backdrop. This intricate fruit mélange and fresh/creamy dance follows through in the mouth, with Eureka lemon, kiwi, and papaya flavors interlaced with gardenia and crème brûlée. Beautifully balanced until the end, the wine finishes with ginger-lemon drops kissed with toffee. Pair with a chicken pot pie or fettuccini Alfredo.
