Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with cinnamon and strawberry bouquet with hints of Dr. Pepper and cardamom. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, round, and juicy. The flavor profile is a slightly extracted black cherry and stewed black plum blend with notes of stony minerality and black pepper. We also detected hints of oak and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with Jiko's wild boar or with a grilled butterflied leg of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Docker Hill has staked its claim as our last pinot grapes to be harvested each year. The nose greets you with blackberry compote, cherry pie, and sweet baking spices, providing the first clue of the plushness to come. High-toned cranberry, cherry, and pomegranate give way to darker fruits in the initial sip. A sun-kissed berry bowl of wild blackberry and raspberry follow, filling out the middle of this very seductive mouth, before the wine finishes with sweet cherry and sandalwood. While its fruit is bold, the wine has a gracefulness to it, letting it match with either brash or fine pairings. Try it with crispy duck pancakes or with our new favorite cheese Pennyroyal Farms Boont Corners aged goat cheese.
