Wine Review: This dark ruby color Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield is impressive. It opens with a spiced black plum and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with pleasant acidity. It is delicate and balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty mild crushed stone and spiced plum blend with notes of raspberry. I also detected hints of boysenberry and oolong tea mixed in. The finish is dry and drifts away nicely. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with coq au vin. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Woodsy aromas of redwood trees frame the wild brambly berries on the nose, with notes of dried cranberry and darker black tea providing a sweet and savory backdrop. The mouth has that great quality of being super rich yet not at all heavy, brimming with cherry, blackberry and raspberry. Dried thyme and rhubarb add layers of interest to the berry bowl. An extended finish echoes the bold yet elegant blackberry and forest floor essence of the wine. Pair with roasted chicken with crispy bacon.
